Often on Remembrance Sunday we think, in my opinion, too much about the two world wars and not enough about our young people today, caught up and dying in modern warfare.
It was great to see Oor Derek looking so smart with his medals on! It made Sunday very real to me. One of them is for Bosnia. Remember Bosnia? It was the most horrific of “theatres”, and yet it’s easy for it to slip the mind.
Lads like Derek will certainly never forget!

We welcomed the 5-day-old Lauren in the hall on Sunday with dad Barry! Isn’t she just brilliant?

It is with great sadness that I pass on the news that George died on Saturday afternoon. It’s a possibility that the funeral will be on Thursday afternoon. The Funeral Service is in St Augustine’s at 1.45pm on Thursday 12th November. George’s remains will be brought into church on Wednesday at 4.15pm.
Services at 10.30am and 7pm.
